How glass jars are formed? —-Glass jars making process

1, Ingredients
The main materials of the glass jars are recycled glass, limestone, soda ash, silica sand, borax and dolomite.

2, Melting
All glass batch mixture is fed to a furnace and heated to 1550-1600 degrees until it melts. The furnace runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. One furnace can melt several hundred tonnes of ingredients each day.

3, Forming the Glass Bottle
Once the molten glass mixture comes out of the furnace and cools to around 1250 degrees, a well-timed shear is used to cut it to create gobs with equal weights.
There are two different ways to form the bottle’s final shape, one is “Press Formation”, and the other one is “Press and Blow Formation”.

1) Press Formation:
Each gob is dropped into a series of forming moulds, the gobs are pushed down into a mould with a plunger. They are shaped and made into jars directly.

2) Press and Blow Formation:
Once the gobs are pushed down and made into parisons, each parison is reheated, and they are injected with air to “blow” them into the shape of the mould.

4, Annealing
This process cools down the glass jars at a uniform rate to eliminate internal stresses that could result in shattering or cracking. It rectifies stress to make the containers stronger.

5, Inspections
The final step is a thorough inspection of the jars to ensure they meet the standard of our factory. Any bottle that shows imperfections including misshapen areas, cracks, and bubbles will be removed directly and then recycled as cullet.

The Advantages of glass containers

1, Glass containers have good barrier properties, which can prevent the invasion of oxygen and other gases into the contents, and at the same time prevent the volatile components of the contents evaporate into the atmosphere.

2, Glass is endlessly recyclable. Normally glass bottles & jars can be used repeatedly, which can reduce the costs of packaging.

3, Beautiful, the color of the glass jars can be changed relatively easily.

Glass jars are safe and hygienic, the glass jars are corrosion resistant and acid corrosion resistant, they are suitable for packaging acidic substances, such as vegetable juice drinks, etc.
